Louis Lake Road/Loop Road: Lander, Wyoming
Louis Lake Road/Loop Road
It is confusing to "outsiders" but maps call this Louis Lake Road. However, kiosk such as this one call it "Loop Road". Take your pick. We accessed Louis Lake Road from Lander, Wyoming and SR-131 Sinks Canyon Road. When you travel southwest out of Lander on Sinks Canyon Road you just keep going and mysteriously Sinks Canyon Road just becomes Louis Lake Road. I think the combination of Sinks Canyon Road and Louis Lake Road make up what is locally referred to as "Loop Road". Now that is just a guess on my part, but I hope it is sufficient for you to locate the area we are writing about.

At this point we are 35-miles southwest of Lander on Louis Lake Road.

Loop Road or Lewis Lake Road is near, Atlantic City, South Pass City, Oregon Buttes, South Pass on the Oregon Trail, Red Cliffs, Sinks Canyon, and the Sinks & Rise on the Middle Popo Agie River.

This is typical of much of Louis Lake Road especially the part south of Louis Lake.
