Crazy Woman Road out of Buffalo, Wyoming part-1

On Crazy Woman Road about to emerge from Crazy Woman Canyon southwest of Buffalo, Wyoming

We have been driving east through Crazy Woman Canyon on Crazy Woman Road southwest of Buffalo, Wyoming. The walls of Crazy Woman Canyon are disappearing rapidly. About 300-yards in front of us the view is going to change and change drastically.

The next picture will show you what lay to the east of us. Things changed in the blink of an eye. This picture is looking north at the first row of foothills on the eastern slope of the Big Horn Mountains.

This view is looking east along Crazy Woman Road, with prairie as far as the eye can see. That is so different than Crazy Woman Canyon that is directly behind us.

Joyce took this picture looking north along the foothills of the Big Horn Mountains. Crazy Woman Road trends east and west. We were headed east and had just emerged from Crazy Woman Canyon and to our surprise we were here looking at an expanse of prairie as far as the eye could see to our east.

Ranch scenes like this were the order of the day along the eastern portion of Crazy Woman Road.

We spotted a number of pronghorn while driving on the eastern section (prairie-section) of Crazy Woman Road.

We had just emerged from Crazy Woman Canyon which is a slow drive along Crazy Woman Creek in a deep Canyon with vertical cliff walls on either side. Leaving that awesome canyon and emerging into this was mind boggling. We stopped the car and got out for pictures.

If you are like me you are wondering why everything is called "Crazy Woman". I did some research and have written about that name in a travel log about Buffalo, Wyoming.
