Mahogany Tree

This picture shows the smallish yellow/green leaves that identify this tree as a mahogany tree.

Mahogany trees are one of south Florida's most popular landscape trees.

Mahogany can reach 75 feet in height with a 50-foot-spread but most I see are much smaller as in 40 to 50 feet tall and about that width.

Mahogany Tree Fruit

This is a mahogany tree fruit. It is about the size of a large base ball but smaller than a soft ball. It has a hard "woody" shell that will turn brown and split open releasing winged seeds.

Look for the light green baseball size fruits on this mahogany tree.
