Angel oak is a champion live oak tree. It is one of the oldest and largest live oak trees in the country.

If you are interested in "Champion" live oak trees you might like to read our visit to "Big Tree" or the Goose Island Oak the Texas Champion Live Oak Tree.

I also have a page dedicated to other "Champion Live Oaks" that we have visited in our travels.

Charleston Tea Plantation

Charleston Tea Plantation

We toured the Charleston Tea Plantation for the second time. It is a cool "factory" tour. Not only can you tour the plantation they take you through the factory building where the freshly cropped tea leaves are processed. If you are in Charleston plan on visiting the Charleston Tea Plantation. It will be a fun family outing.

You will also want to visit Angel Oak one of the oldest and largest live oak trees in the country since you pass right by it on your way to the Tea Plantation.

Tour attractions while in Charleston with one of the Carriage operators. Charleston is notably the most historic city in America and has many historic areas and attractions which are best visited by carriage tour. Clippity clop your way back to Colonial times where a horse-drawn carriage tour will reveal 300 + years of history including antebellum mansions, churches, and cobblestone streets.

A one hour Charleston carriage tour covering more than 2.5 miles and 30 blocks of historic Charleston is an excellent way to see the city and to learn about its rich and vast historical areas and attractions.

We tend to these carriage rides originating around the Charleston City Market.
