This picture was taken near the rest rooms and parking lot at Rockerfeller Preserve tucked away in the southwest corner Grand Teton National Park.

The bench is located on the short walking trail leading from the parking lot to the visitor center at Rockerfeller Preserve. From the visitor center the walking trail continues throughout the preserve.

Antelope bitterbrush on a terrace along the Snake River at Schwabacher's Landing in Grand Teton NP

Antelope bitterbrush is common on terraces along the Snake River as it flows through Grand Teton National Park. Joyce took this picture on a trail that leads from the parking lot at Schwabacher's Landing located just north of Antelope Flats Road.

The foliage and twigs are bitter as the name implies. But in spite of the bitter taste antelope bitterbrush is a very important browse for deer and elk in the winter and spring.

The spindle-shaped fruits of the antelope bitterbrush provide food for small mammals like ground squirrels and chipmunks.

Indians used to brew the leaves to prepare a cough medicine.

Schwabacher's Landing is one of those places you want to locate and visit when stopping in Grand Teton National Park.

A lot of snow fell on the Tetons this winter and the snow melt is melting fast causing this torrent of water that will join the Snake River in less than a mile.

Joyce took this picture from a bridge crossing the creek. The bridge was constructed just to give visitors to Rockerfeller Preserve this view.

This picture has a little of it all, with Grand Teton Mountain in the background, sage brush and elk thistle about to bloom.

We were on the walking trail at Rockerfeller Preserve when Joyce lined up the elk thistle with Grand Teton Mountain.

The Rockerfeller Preserve Visitor Center is located on a sagebrush flat. That gray roof you see on the left side of this picture is the roof on the Rockerfeller Preserve Visitor Center. The Teton Mountain Range is on the horizon.

Actually, longleaf phlox have pink flowers but the sun is washing the pink out of these flowers. It is so hard to capture the delicate pinkish purple of these flowers in sunlight.

Joyce snapped this picture along one of the walking trails in Rockerfeller Preserve in Grand Teton National Park.
