This picture shows a large elk herd in plain view on Willow Flats not far from Jackson Lake Lodge in Grand Teton National Park. That is the majestic Teton Range in the background.

Willow Flats is stretched out in front of us with Jackson Lake in the distance. The Teton Range is dropping to the south. Of course the tallest peak just to the left of center is Grand Teton Mountain while the large mountain to the right of center is Mt Moran.

Willow Flats is home to a lot of wildlife but they can be hard to spot at times. Moose and bear are visible one minute then disappear just as quickly as they wander into sight. Elk herds are pretty easy to spot most of the time but they can disappear into the lush vegetation as well.

That is Jackson Lake in the distance.

Joyce framed this picture with the log fence behind Jackson Lake Lodge in Grand Teton National Park. That is the Teton Range in the distance.

We almost always spot elk on Willow Flats. Look closely and you can see the large elk herd in this picture.

We were less than a mile south of Jackson Lake Lodge when Joyce took this picture.
