US 26 around Bull Lake in Wyoming

Joyce had to take this picture facing the sun so you do not see the awesome snowpack still covering the Wind River Range in the distance. What you can see is the lush green agricultural area in the Wind River Valley south of Dubois and Bull Lake.

As you can see this part of Wyoming is arid except for the irrigated areas along the Wind River. There is still a lot of snow on the Wind River Range above 7,000-feet.

The massive snowpack in the Wind River Range is melting fast and creating flood conditions along the entire length of the Wind River here in Wyoming.

In the bottom right corner of this picture you can see flooding caused by the Wind River overflowing it's banks.

As you can see there is a lot of snow still in the Wind River Range so this flooding is only going to get worse.

This picture of wind river flooding was taken a little east of the US-26/US-287 intersection south of Dubois. That is a ranch you see here that has been flooded. There was a house somewhere out there that was at least 1/2 way submerged.

These folks were traveling north on US-287 from Lander and got ahead of our motorhome at the intersection of US-287 & US-26. We are both heading to Dubois at this point. We should be approaching Bull Lake when this picture was taken.
