Brown pelicans and LARGE tarpon wait in the water behind the Tortuga IV for scraps thrown from the cleaning process.

We stopped and watched the pelicans and tarpon several different times.

The Tortuga IV is a relatively new 64 foot long x 24 foot wide twin engine, catamaran hull, party boat perfectly suited for fishing.

It is a party boat as defrientiated from a charter boat. On a "charter boat" one person "CHARTERS" the entire boat and it is usually pretty expensive. On a Party Boat or Head Boat, each passenger pays a fee "by the head". That way 25 or 30 fishermen, who do not know each other, are able to fish and do it much cheaper.

After each trip the deckhands gather on the stern of the Tortuga IV and clean each customers fish.

This is a fun and interesting thing to watch. Well, watching them clean fish isn't interesting but watching the brown pelicans and large tarpon feed on scraps is fun.

If you just want to see large tarpon click here.
