On April 6 2001 Secretary of State Colin Powell opened peace talks in the Little White House Key West between the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan. The flags are placed, under international protocol, with the combatant nations on the ends and the U. S. Flag on the right of the negotiating nations. The flags are left to right:Azerbaijan, organization for Security & Cooperation in Europe France, Russia,the United States and Armenia

In 1996 President and Mrs. Jimmy Carter used the Little White House Key West for a family gathering. In 2005 President Bill and Senator Hillary Clinton used the house as a weekend retreat.
