Extremely small, almost tame, buck on No Name Key
Joyce took this picture of a small buck endangered, Keys deer in someone's driveway.
There are only a few homes on No Name Key and this small buck was wandering through some of their front yards. We watched him from our Saturn until he got in this clearing which just happened to be someone's circular drive.

We were in the stree in our Saturn and wanted a better background for this picture since we knew that the deer would blend in so well. One thing I can assure you of is that wild deer do not pose for pictures very well. VBG I say "wild" deer but for all practical purposes these deer are tame. From what I see their main food source consist of plants in residents yards.
Small endangered Key Deer on No Name Key
Joyce was able to get a shot with a bit better background but still his antlers are hard to see. I do not think this buck stands more than around 36" off the ground. The endangered Key Deer are extremely small.

Joyce finally got a picture where you can see the antlers on this small buck. It was hard for her to do since he kept walking in and out of heavy brush that was almost the same color as him. Key deer are so tiny they are cute.
