BamaJam 2010

Bama Jam near Enterprise, Alabama

We are enjoying Bama Jam a three day country music extravaganza held in a cow pasture near Enterprise, Alabama the first weekend in June every year.

We are staying at Mr. D's RV-Park in Ozark, Alabama (16-miles from Bama Jam) $20 FHU pave interior roads and sites with cable TV.

Bama Jam is a three day country music event much like Woodstock only much better organized.

Joyce & I discussed it and decided Dierks Bently put on the best performance at Bama Jam this year.

Bama Jam is a country music event but also an arts festival and carnival all rolled into one. While there are 4-stages with continuous live music there are also a wide variety of other attractions and activities.

Free water lines at Bama Jam 2010

Water is the only free thing inside the Bama Jam fence. Not really but it sure seems like it. VBG

I got a kick out of this line at this free water station. I am glad Joyce got this picture since I did not see a line like this again. Actually there are two lines since there are two water fountains. Everyone had a water container. The smarter ones had water containers and packets of tea, Kool-Aid etc., to mix with their water.

Then there were folks who only drank beer or Jack Daniels. I just said that, and there was drinking going on, but we only saw one individual that had too much to drink in the three days/nights of Bama Jam. I am sure there were more but we only saw one.

We took this picture in the early afternoon. As you can see this is early afternoon before the big acts start. This picture is looking back from our seats which are probably 400-yards from the stage. The stage is situated in a natural amphitheater that is probably able to accommodate over 100,000. Now that is my guess. We heard that attendance this year was in excess of 150,000 but I do not know that for a fact. What I can tell you is that what you see here is NOTHING compared to what will be in this area when the sun goes down.

This woolie booger is Jamey Johnson. Behind that facade is a very talented song writer. He wrote the George Strait hit song "Just throw it away" in addition to his song "In Color" that he performed himself.

Joyce would adopt Joanna in a heartbeat. I just hope that Joanna remembers us when she hits the big time. I think 2010 might be the year for us to see her go to the top of the charts.
