Places Visited: Melbourne, Camelot RV-Park, Grant, Sebastian, Indian River

This is a picture of Indian River Lagoon from the front door of our RV where we are in Camelot RV-Park in Melbourne. That is highway 1 between us and the Indian River. This was taken on Saturday February 18. The weather was beautiful as you can see and temperatures soared into the 80's for the afternoon. We couldn't ask for any better weather. That is Indiatlantic across the river.

A few miles south of our campground in Melbourne/Port Malibar is the small fishing community of Grant. We took these pictures while visiting there one afternoon. The Peninsular jutting into the Indian River Lagoon is in a beautiful city park as are the clump of cabbage palm trees.

This is an osprey that was fishing in the Indian River.

This American Oystercatcher was feeding outside Squid Lips waterfront restaurant in Sebastian. Note the band on his leg. It would have been nice if I could have homed in on that band and read the number off it.

This ringbill gull was retrieving something out of the shallow water near a dock on the Indian River.

Gulls are a common sight along the coast.

The surfer girl on the left was teaching these boys a thing or two. Actually, I did not realize that she was a she until after processing the pictures. We took these pictures at the pier on Cocoa Beach.

This freighter is offloading aggregate that will be used in making concrete. The picture was taken from the south side of Port Canaveral not far from Jetty Park, the well known campground.
